Ted Trautman is a writer, an editor, and a Boy Scout at heart. His work has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Slate, and on the websites of the New Yorker, the Atlantic, Foreign Policy, and the Paris Review. He grew up in Minnesota and has lived in Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, and Argentina. These days he's in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Ted is also a contributing editor at Circa, the "mobile-first" news startup, and he teaches copy editing at Mediabistro.
